Review
2 lange Jahre liessen sich die Entwickler bei KCET Zeit um den zweiten Suikoden auf den Markt zu bringen. Als es dann 1998 endlich so waren die Erwartungen natürlich gross, war der Erste Teil doch eines der besten RPGs für die PSX und hatte sich eine treue Anhängerschaft geschaffen.
Und so wie das Spiel auch, ist der Soundtrack einfach nur atemberaubend. All die Elemente, die den ersten Soundtrack bereits grossartig machten, sind auch im zweiten OGS anzufinden, aber wie auch das Spiel setzt der Soundtrack dem ohnehin schon genialen Vorgänger noch einen drauf. Wieder unglaublich abwechslungsreich, füllt der Soundtrack stattliche 4 CDs mit insgesammt 105 Titeln. Und keiner dieser Titel ist in irgendeiner Art und Weise schlecht. Allesammt lassen sie die Atmosphäre und Erinnerung an eins der besten, wenn nicht sogar das Beste, RPG der Playstation Ära wieder aufleben.
Angefangen beim vom Warschauer Philharmonie Orchester und Chor vorgetrangen Opening, über die wieder mal gelungen Musikstücke in den Städten, wie das in Kyaro oder Muse, Annalee wunderschön gesungen Lieder oder das sehr ergreifende La Passione Commuove La Storia, lässt wirklich keins der Musikstücke irgend etwas zu wünschen übrig.
Eine deutlich Verbesserung zum ersten Soundtrack ist ganz klar, die Tatsache, dass man sich diesesmal sazu entschieden hat, die Musikstücke der Mini Games nicht als Bonustracks hinten dran zuhängen und somit die Stimmung die noch vom Ending Theme erzeugt wurde zu atackiern, sondern diese Tracks vorher abzubrennen, in diesem Falle auf CD 1 von Vol. 2, die Tracks 6 - 20 sind allesammt den Minispielen entnommen und somit allesammt Kanditaten für die Skip Taste.
Ansonsten wieder einmal ein klasse Soundtrack, der zeigt was alles in Miki Higashino steckt.
Villeicht noch ein Wort zu der "Complete Version" : Das Einzige was diese Version von den normalen Vol.1 und Vol. 2 unterscheidet, ist ein blaues Slipcase was über die die beiden doppel CDs gepackt wird, davon angesehen ist die Verpackung bei beiden Versionen gleich. Es lohnt sich also nicht nach dieser Version zu suchen, das sie überhaupt keinen Mehrwert bietet.
